Former President Donald Trump continued auditioning potential vice presidents Saturday at his massive Wildwood, New Jersey rally. Trump trotted out a former 2024 rival to give remarks who then revealed he had traveled to the oceanside event on board 'Trump Force One.' 

He was a lifelong Democrat. And then the Hall-of-Fame linebacker met Donald Trump. 'I just wanted to say I grew up a Democrat and I've always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,' the 65-year-old told Trump supporters at a campaign event along the Jersey Shore on Saturday. 'He will not have to worry nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again,' he said.

German supermarket chain Aldi is expanding across the US at breakneck speeds thanks to a unique business model that Americans are lapping up. Some 2,400 of its small stores, packed with a limited assortment of well-curated but mostly private label goods, are now dotted across the country, and it plans to open another 800 in the next four years. The retailer was recently named the fastest-growing grocer in the US for the fifth year in a row by real estate firm JLL, and in terms of store count it's the third largest. 'No one else is putting up 100 stores a year in the grocery space,' said Michael Infranco, assistant vice president at RetailStat.

A woman who was left covered in bug bites is suing the City of Santa Fe, Texas after claiming local police handcuffed her shoved her face down in a bed of fire ants. The incident happened in 2021 when the plaintiff, Taylor Rogers, was arrested by the Santa Fe Police Department. Per the lawsuit, Rogers was driving with her son when an officer started yelling at her to stop. Court files said Rogers panicked because officers pounded on her vehicle and pointed their gun at her, and she went the wrong way accidentally.

A bungled scorecard announcement has caused outrage following Cherneka Johnson's title fight with Nina Hughes, with the wrong winner being named initially. The pair fought a brilliant ten rounds for the WBA bantamweight world title but the fight was forced to the judges' scorecards after neither could find a stoppage. Ring announcer Dan Hennessey awarded the win to Hughes by majority decision, 95-95, 96-94, 98-92.
