A group of anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University have seized the historic Hamilton Hall - with their actions being compared to the January 6 insurrection. Protestors stormed and occupied the building on the main campus of the Manhattan university after smashing their way into the school. The occupation came nearly 12 hours after the deadline of 2pm on Monday for protestors to leave their protest encampment or face suspension. Due to the takeover, the school issued a stay away notice for members of staff telling them to avoid the Morningside campus on Tuesday morning.

In West Virginia , one county's health department has warned that the state is currently seeing hundreds of cases of the condition, compared to a handful a few years ago. Statewide, cases reached 1,052 last year - and are expected to surge to similar levels this year. Just a decade ago, there were barely 300 cases a year. As of Tuesday morning, 18 people had been taken into custody over the Boca Bash weekend, during which thousands of revelers took to the sea for a wild party where liquor flowed freely, and clothes were stripped off. The revelers face charges related to boating under the influence and drug offenses, with released mugshots showing their haggard, red faces and bleary eyes in the aftermath of the rowdy gathering. Arrested by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officers, the partygoers have been booked into the Palm Beach County Jail by Tuesday morning, as reported by Boca News. Unidentified Boca Bash revelers previously sparked fury after they were caught on camera pouring their cans and bottles into the water and openly celebrating the littering as they left the infamous bash on Sunday.

Five Lincoln Middle School students have been banned from future competitions after they refused to compete against Becky Pepper-Jackson, 13, on April 18. West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has filed a lawsuit against the Harrison County Board of Education on the student's behalf. Pepper-Jackson has lived as a girl for more than five years. She began identifying as female in the third grade, take puberty blockers and legally changed her name. Pepper-Jackson took home first place in shot put at the track and field championship.

It was shared during his televised murder trial before the country's Supreme Court , which has shocked the nation, with tens of thousands signing petitions for harsher penalties for domestic violence. Bishimbayev, 43, had claimed in court that his wife had died from 'self-inflicted' injuries on November 9 last year. But the CCTV footage directly contradicts his claim, as it shows the politician punching and kicking his defenseless wife over a period of more than two hours. Bishimbayev finally admitted in court last Wednesday that he had beaten her and 'unintentionally' caused her death.

Cheng 'Charlie' Saephan, 46, claimed his $1.3billion Powerball prize on Monday. Saephan, his wife Duanpan and their friend Laiza Chao all chipped in on a batch of tickets bought at a Plaid Pantry convenience store in Portland, Oregon. The trio will be sharing a lump sum of $422million after taxes. Saephan is an immigrant from Laos who has been battling cancer for eight years. 'I had a feeling and said, like, "I can win it, I can win it," but I didn't think I was going to win this big,' Saephan said.

This is the moment a TikToker accidentally captured a 'serial thief' using a distraction technique to swipe her phone from under her nose - a trick which many others claim to have fallen victim to. Aminah Ali (pictured), 25, was filming a video with a friend outside a restaurant in London earlier this month, when a woman arrived 'out of nowhere'. The content creator claims the lady asked for money, but as she did so was waving a piece of paper, which she sneakily allowed to drop over Aminah's device so she could take it. Aminah only realised her phone was missing a few minutes later and her 'heart dropped' when her friend Iryna Leterova revealed she had captured the moment the alleged thief positioned the paper so she could swipe the device.

Jesse Rossi and his daughter got terrifyingly close to the powerful EF3 tornado near Marietta, in southern Oklahoma, on Saturday. Their car was almost hit by debris during a Facebook Live stream by Jesse as the pair drove on the highway. Jesse and his daughter are heard discussing the cloud formation ahead of them as they see lightening and realize they are directly facing the tornado. As they decide to pull over. a large piece of metal falls right in front of their car, sparking panic in the storm chasers. At least 25 tornadoes killed four people in the state and left thousands without power Sunday, with at least 100 people injured. Footage of the aftermath in Marietta shows a Dollar Tree distribution center completely destroyed and ripped open by the twister. More than 20,000 people were still without electricity hours after tornadoes began late Saturday night. The destruction was extensive in Sulphur, a town of about 5,000 people, where a tornado crumpled many downtown buildings, tossed cars and buses and sheared the roofs off houses across a 15-block radius.

His home in northeastern Poland (right) was considered to have been thoroughly researched, until a team of local researchers and amateur archaeologists set out to uncover a wooden floor in the concrete building. The German-Polish excavators went to the haunting site in the hope of finding some nails or other building materials, and instead uncovered something much darker. The remains of three adults, a teenager and a baby were exposed in the dig, each of which appeared to have been buried naked and had no hands or feet.

After 25 years of drought, Lake Casitas in Ventura County was finally declared to have reached capacity last week after storms from last year pushed water levels to 70 percent - and this year's intense weather conditions gave the reservoir the final push. On Friday, a steady stream of water spilled from the previously drought-stressed reservoir - despite being at just 28 percent in 2022. The water had reached the spillway's elevation at 567 feet - allowing water to finally start trickling down the spillway once again, according to the Casitas Municipal Water District. Lake Casitas, which is fed water by two creeks and a diversion structure, hasn't spilled since 1998.

They then trick the student to accepting a check, which bounces, but not before the fraudsters have access to the victim's bank account allowing them to make off with their money. Recent college graduates are desperate for jobs, making them especially susceptible targets of scams

Creperie la Falaise in Vierville-sur-Mer overlooks the coastline which was stormed by Allied troops on D-Day as they sought to liberate France from Nazi occupation. Almost exactly 80 years on, battlefield guide Eugenie Brooks said troops she took to the eatery were refused service. 'This cafe at Vierville Draw at Omaha Beach Normandy refused to serve my British Army soldiers today as "they are English",' she wrote on X, adding: 'An utter disgrace & I will NEVER EVER EVER take any of my tours there again.'
