The President's Fiscal Year 2025 budget proposal includes increasing the top marginal rate on long-term capital gains dividends up to the 44.6 percent mark, which is the highest ever since the tax was implemented a century ago. An enormous dead alligator distracted a driver in Louisiana and caused a car crash on Paris Road around 6.30am Monday. One car swerved off the road into a nearby bayou. Those involved in the crash were not seriously injured, witness Kayden Koffler said. Koffler, who wasn't present at the time of the crash, told NOLA.com the alligator was dead when he showed up for work at Gulf South Automotive, near the crash scene, that morning.
