The Nebraska teacher accused of sexually abusing a teenage student has been pictured in a new mugshot ahead of her first court appearance. Erin Ward, 45, appeared dazed and disheveled in a mugshot released by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office three days after her arrest. The married mother of three admitted to having sex with a 17-year-old student after the pair were caught in the backseat of a car belonging to Ward and her husband, a high-ranking U.S. Department of Defense employee.

NEW Terrence Crosbie, 37, was charged in March with one count of rape after a 28-year-old woman told police she had been sexually assaulted at the historic Omni Parker House hotel. Court documents indicate that the woman met Crosbie's friend at the bar The Black Rose, and returned to the hotel, where Crosbie and his friend were sharing a room. The woman and the friend then had consensual sex in the room.

Former US Rep. Madison Cawthorn crashed his car into a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser, a woman claims in various posts on social media. The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Interstate 95 south heading into Miami, the poster, Alathea Shapiro alleges. Shapiro says in her post that as she was driving, a black sportscar with tinted windows began tailgating her. Moments after she switched lanes to allow the car to pass, traffic on the highway came to a complete stop. When Shapiro came upon the reason for the stoppage, she saw the right-wing culture warrior talking with a Florida State Trooper who was clutching his neck, Shapiro, who describes herself as a social/racial activist, says.

Meghan Markle has launched the first product from her new business venture American Riviera Orchard as she sent influencers a jar of strawberry jam. Fashion designer Tracy Robbins and Argentine socialite Delfina Balquier are among those who have posted an image of the product on their Instagram Stories today. Mrs Robbins and her husband Paramount boss Brian Robbins are friends with the Sussexes and invited them to the Bob Marley film premiere in Jamaica in January. The couple are also friends with Ms Balquier, who is married to Prince Harry 's friend Nacho Figueras whom they saw at a fundraising polo match in Florida last Friday. Mrs Robbins posted a picture of the jam, which had the logo for American Riviera Orchard and 'Montecito' underneath - the celebrity enclave in California where Harry and Meghan live in a £12million mansion. The label also had the words '17 of 50'. Ms Balquier posted a similar picture on her Stories, saying: 'Strawberry jam makes me happy. And I love your jam, @AmericanRivieraOrchard.' Her label said: '10 of 50.'

Donald Trump's attorney Alina Habba echoed her client's frustrations that he might miss son Barron's high school graduation because of appearing in court in his first criminal trial. Habba, one of the more well known members of Trump's legal team, is a civil attorney for the former president - so she did not appear alongside her client during his criminal proceedings Monday. Trump lambasted Judge Juan Merchan in his historic hush money trial for the potential he could refuse him permission to get out of court to attend his 18-year-old son's graduation next month.

Dillon Danis has reignited his feud with Nina Agdal and Logan Paul by mocking the pair following their baby announcement. Danis and Paul fought in a boxing clash back in October, with Paul winning after the MMA star was disqualified for attempting to take his opponent down with a jiu-jitsu move. Their bout had become somewhat of a grudge match after significant trash talk from Danis in the build-up, which included personal and sexist attacks at Agdal, Paul's fiancee.

A Texan software company is alleged to have been at the center of a 'rental cartel' that enabled landlords across the US to artificially drive up prices. Software sold by RealPage is used by many of the largest property management firms in the US and suggests prices landlords should charge based on availability and demand in their area. But plaintiffs in several states have brought lawsuits against the firm, claiming landlords share private and commercially sensitive data with the platform which is then weaponized against renters to keep costs as high as possible. In some markets, the majority of property managers in an area are said to use the software for pricing guidance and instruction.

Billionaire heiress Ivy Love Getty - the great-granddaughter of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty - has filed for divorce from her husband Tobias 'Toby' Engel.  The artist and model, 29, called it quits on her marriage to the photographer and actor after four years together according to Page Six. Getty filed for divorce in January. The couple have a prenup in place to protect her billionaire family's assets.

Former Supermax warden Bob Hood has slammed Tsarnaev's failure to pay the $101 million he owes victims while making considerable savings of his own as 'offensive'.

Naomi Watts and her youngest child Kai were two peas in a pod on Monday as they stepped out in stylish dresses at the Dior pre-fall fashion show in Brooklyn. The mother-child duo looked radiant in ankle-length gowns, which featured flowing skirts, and designer accessories as they caught up with friends. Clark was wearing Prada from head to toe - becoming the first WNBA or NBA player to be dressed by the fashion house for the draft. She was seen wearing a silvery top with an off-white skirt and a large jacket over the top of it.

The Democrat , 50, and his wife La'Quetta Small, the superintendent of the Atlantic City Public School System, are accused of beating their daughter on numerous occasions after she defied them over a boy she was dating. According to reported charging documents, when she refused to stop seeing the boy, they carried out a barrage of abuse from December 2023 to January 2024, including beating her unconscious with a broom. Small and his wife are also accused of threatening to 'earth slam' her down the stairs, striking her with a belt, and punching her in the mouth.

Princess Martha Louise of Norway has shared photos of the $3m Californian mansion her fiance Durek Verrett grew up in as she hit back at his mother's claims he 'wasn't raised in wealth'. In a defiant Instagram post, the royal, 52, included comments from one of Durek's former classmates who insisted he was 'one of the richest kids' in their school. Martha Louise's social media rant comes after her future mother-in-law Veruschka Urquhart gave another interview to celebrity magazine Se og Hør - having previously labelled her son 'dangerous' and alleging that he had 'brainwashed' the royal. In the latest bombshell interview, Veruschka commented on the family's finances and claimed they were not as wealthy as Durek - who previously told Vanity Fair that he had access to a private plane growing up - has tried to make out. Accusing the publication of 'spreading lies', the royal wrote: 'This time they are repeating the lie that Durek was not from a wealthy family as a child [...], when the truth is that he grew up in a good neighbourhood, his mom left him at an early age and it was in reality his mom not having money, not him.'

Terrified mothers have been forced to flee a Melbourne shopping centre with their children after a bloody brawl broke out between a group of machete-wielding men. The group of men brawled inside the Woodgrove Shopping Centre (main) at Melton in Melbourne's north-west at about 5pm on Monday. Witnesses claim the men, who they believe were teenagers, were armed with a variety weapons and were seen waving knives and throwing chairs during the melee. One of the men was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One shopper said she and her three children hid inside the baby changing rooms with other scared mothers as the brawl unfolded.

In 2015, the 28-year-old was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted murder and handed a life sentence with no parole for 25 years. Her then-boyfriend, Daniel Wong, and co-conspirators, Lenford Crawford and David Mylvaganam, were also found guilty. The defendants filed appeals, as permitted under Canadian law, and now the case may be heading back to trial.

Footage shows builders working on the scaffolding outside the landmark building as they were running away from the flames, with a stonemason shouting: 'We have to go down, we have to get out.' One of the workers was Ole Hansen, 60, a bricklayer, who said he noticed the fire on the roof and quickly snapped a picture, before also telling his colleagues to rush to safety. 'I have never experienced anything like this,' Hansen, who was working on the building with 14 others, told Danish outlet Fagbladet 3F and added that he was quite shaken by the inferno. Danes have expressed their horror at '400 years of culture going up in flames' after the huge blaze broke out at the historic stock exchange. Authorities are scrambling to preserve artefacts of the city's rich history, with even passers-by seen carrying large paintings away from the building in a race to save them from the spreading flames, only 40 per cent of which are under control. Among them was Mr Hanse, who helped carry paintings out of the burning landmark called The Børsen.

A lip reader has revealed Taylor Swift's conversations with Travis Kelce at Coachella, revealing all the fun the pop star had at the iconic music festival this past weekend.  Jackie Gonzalez, a deaf TikToker who posts videos of her lip reading celebrities, has shared what Swift, 34, allegedly said in a series of videos taken from the festival. According to Jackie, Taylor was having the absolute time of her life as she introduced fans to her boyfriend, 34, cheered on the musical artists, sang her own song Karma, before declaring she was 'drunk.'

The sprawling Château d'Armainvilliers, located in Seine-et-Marne on the outskirts of Paris, is a true sight to behold. Constructed in the late 19th century upon the foundations of a 12th century castle, it was owned by the Rothschild banking empire before being acquired by Morocco's King Hassan II in the 1980s. Since then, the Moroccan monarch is believed to have made a battery of renovations and improvements to the huge mansion, which boasts more than 100 rooms, 2500 square metres of living space, 1000 hectares of land and a private lake, among many other decadent features. Hassan II's son sold the property following his father's death to an undisclosed buyer in the Middle East in 2008 - and now it has returned to the market for a stunning €425million. But it remains to be seen whether potential buyers will meet the astronomical asking price after French real estate experts described it as 'absurd' and drastically inflated.

An influencer has said she has been left unable to walk after standing in a bucket of ice and salt for an online 'challenge' that turned her feet black and nearly required the amputation of her toes. Reality TV star MC Thammy, real name is Thammy Caroline, suffered first and second degree burns after filming herself taking part in the ill-advised viral trend for her two million followers earlier this month with friends in Recife, Brazil. 'We spent 15 minutes with our feet on the ice with coarse salt,' she said, recounting the April 6 horror. 'When I took my foot out I never felt such pain in my life. Three of my toes had turned black when it came out of the ice bucket.'

A proposed design for a new train station in the Chinese city of Nanjing has been ridiculed by internet users for a very unusual reason. Chinese social media users have pointed out that the new £2.2 billion ($2.7bn) North Nanjing station has a striking resemblance to a sanitary pad. The topic has generated millions of views on Chinese social media platforms, with many commenters mocking the design. While its designers insist the four-lobed building is meant to resemble a plum blossom, many netizens point out that plum blossoms famously have five petals.

Dior attracted a chic crowd to its pre-fall 2024 fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum in New York on Monday. A star-studded front row was made up of TV stars, Oscar nominees and singers who all posed for a glam photo before the runway kicked off. White Lotus star Alexandra Daddario sat next to actress and singer Alexandra Shipp, while Naomi Watts, 55, was joined by her younger child Kai Watts, 15.

Ravi Kumar is only 24 inches tall and weighs just 15.4lbs (7kg) and is believed to be one of the smallest adults in India. Kumar, who comes from Jhansi, in the northern Uttar Pradesh state, is the only member of his family with a growth deficiency. His family said they had taken him to a doctor as a kid, after he stopped growing physically when he was five years old. His mother said that treatment for his condition is 'possible, but we don't have enough money to afford it'.

Speaking to La Libre , as reported by Point de Vue, the Luxembourg royal, 69, (pictured left with his wife) quipped that he knows the exact date he plans to pass the baton to his son Guillaume, 42 (right with his wife) - but 'won't tell' the press yet. 'All this is planned in family consultation. I find that it is very important to give young people a perspective,' he added. 'Transmission and trust are the two essential elements in my relationship with my son Guillaume.' The outlet, reporting on a conversation the Grand Duke had with programme Place Royale, also revealed that he said it's 'obvious' that he 'intends to retire at some point'.

The torch for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was lit in ancient Olympia in a traditional ceremony on Tuesday, marking the final stretch of the seven-year preparations for the Games' start on July 26. Greek actress Mary Mina, playing the role of high priestess, lit the torch using a backup flame instead of a parabolic mirror due to cloudy skies for the start of a relay in Greece and France.  It will culminate with the lighting of the Olympic flame in the French capital at the opening ceremony.
